Sam Davis (1902–1973) was born in Ukraine in 1902. In 1914 he came alone to Toronto, and in 1919 returned to Ukraine to bring his mother, three sisters, and a brother to Canada. Davis worked as a clothing salesman and in 1923 was in Calgary. There he met Edith Shapiro (1904–1996), the daughter of Yale and Leah Shapiro, who had immigrated to Canada from Ukraine only the year before. I've found no information on Davis's later life. He died on 14 January 1973.
