Dominion Construction of Vancouver, the Bentall family company, designed and built this office for Thomas Percy Barnett (1909–1981) of Vancouver. It was named the New York Life Building originally, but the name changed in 1959. Dominion was responsible also for the Tanner Building, Bentall Building, and Executive Building. It was demolished around 1980 to make way for a parkade.
